Dr. Jonathan Loewen, M.D.
Born and raised in Hillsboro, Kansas, Dr. Loewen started his academic career at Tabor College where he completed an undergraduate degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry with highest honors. The air capital city of Wichita was the next stop for Dr. Loewen as he completed the Master of Science program in biology at Wichita State University.
Headed south for Texas, Dr. Loewen made Houston home as a student at the Baylor College of Medicine. Here he received his Doctorate in Medicine with honors, then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kansas which took place back in Wichita. Finally, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Lake Tahoe Orthopedic Institute in Zephyr Cove, Nev. There he worked with several different fellowship trained sports medicine physicians and worked closely with the US ski team.
Dr. Loewen is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery as well as a member of the American Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has spent the past 20 years serving the Hutchinson and surrounding communities of central Kansas. He performs general orthopedics, including arthroscopies, with a special interest in sports medicine and joint replacement of the shoulder, hip and knee
He and his wife Diane have 7 children, 4 boys and 3 girls. He also is a proud grandpa. His interests outside of work are spending time with his wife and children, attending local sporting events, working with his cattle and supporting his local church.
